Farmer Arrested in Jerlun After Brother-in-Law Found Beheaded in Paddy Field

Kedah, El Sky News – A 38-year-old farmer has been charged in court for allegedly killing his 45-year-old brother-in-law in a brutal attack that took place at Kampung Pida 3, Jerlun, Kedah. The incident reportedly occurred near the victim’s paddy field and resulted in the victim’s head being severed from his body.

According to reports by Berita Harian, the suspect, who works in the same area as the victim, was arrested at his home shortly after the incident. He was found still holding a machete when police arrived at the scene.

The arrest was made approximately 15 minutes after police persuaded the suspect to surrender peacefully. Following the investigation, authorities confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty upon conviction for murder.

The incident shocked local residents, especially as both men were known to be relatives and fellow farmers in the same village. Police have not disclosed further details regarding the motive, but investigations are ongoing.
