Malaysia PM urges Sabah cooperation to maintain stability ahead of election

Sabah, El Sky News – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called on both state and federal leadership in Sabah to work in harmony with the federal government to ensure economic development and political stability for the region.

Speaking during a working visit, Anwar emphasised that unity between the state and federal administrations was essential for improving infrastructure, creating jobs and enhancing public services. He warned that internal political infighting and divisiveness had cost Malaysia years of progress.

He addressed Sabah’s citizens directly, saying he is “prime minister for all” — across races and regions — and urged state leaders to avoid divisive, race-based or region-based politics, focusing instead on cooperative governance and economic upliftment.
